Tiverton & Honiton – About our Constituency & CLP
Tiverton & Honiton constituency is one of the longest constituencies in our country, spanning across areas of both East & Mid Devon.
It is currently held by the Conservative Party. Although big gains were made on previous results in the last General Election, the Labour candidate Caroline Kolek of Honiton still polled second. As a highly skilled and active Constituency Labour Party (CLP), we plan to change this.
So firstly, what is Tiverton & Honiton CLP & how does it relate to me?
“Tiverton & Honiton CLP is your local labour party – a hub for community organisation, thoughts, ideas and action in the Tiverton & Honiton area.”
(See above for the full area our constituency covers and whether your town or village falls under our boundaries.)
What is a Branch Labour party (BLP)?
Our CLP further organises itself into two smaller units called branches. This is where you can meet people on a more local basis. You will share your ideas on aiding your local communities and hopefully push these on to the wider community. These meetings also decide through your local Labour members who will be your local council candidate representatives for the party.
Our CLP is broken up into two dedicated branches:
- Tiverton & Cullompton Branch – Tiverton & Cullompton
- Honiton & Axe Valley Branch – Honiton, Seaton & Axminster
What are Regional Parties?
In England, the Labour Party is made up of nine regions. They organise training, social events, and put on regional conferences where you can get to know members from across your region. They can also help you organise speakers for local events.
Here at Tiverton & Honiton we belong to the South West Labour region. To find out more about your regional party, click here.
